Jet Boat Ride
Combine the best of Queenstown’s scenic trails and high-speed thrills with our Bike & Jet Boat Combo. Start with a self-guided lakeside cycle and finish with a heart-pounding jet boat ride — all in one seamless half-day adventure.
Your experience begins at Around The Basin’s Queenstown shop (3 Searle Lane), where you’ll be set up with your choice of a Standard or Electric Mountain Bike, helmet, and a map. After a quick briefing, head out on a flat and easy 8km ride along the Lake Wakatipu shoreline to Frankton Marina.
This scenic trail offers incredible lake views, peaceful picnic spots, and plenty of time to stop for coffee or snacks at local favourites like:
Enjoy up to 2 hours of relaxed ride time — just make sure you arrive at Frankton Marina for your jet boat check-in exactly 2 hours after departure.
Your adventure shifts gears as you board the iconic KJet at Frankton Marina. Hold on tight for a 45-minute adrenaline-filled jet boat ride that powers across Lake Wakatipu, and roars up the Kawarau and Shotover Rivers — complete with spins, speed, and stunning alpine views.
You’ll return to central Queenstown at the KJet Main Town Pier, just 3 hours after your journey began — and don’t worry about the bike, we’ll collect it for you.
Ride the trail. Feel the thrill. Skip the logistics.
The trail passes through exposed alpine terrain, so weather conditions can change quickly. We assess the weather each morning, and if you’re unsure, feel free to call us 45 minutes to 1 hour before the shuttle departs. If the conditions are unsafe for riding, we’ll do our best to reschedule. If that’s not possible, we can offer a refund (minus a 3% transaction fee).
