Frankton Track Diversion - 2026
Due to major infrastructure upgrades to the Frankton Track, a detour via the sealed footpath alongside Frankton Road will be in place throughout 2026.
While you can still enjoy the iconic lakeside ride out of Queenstown, we recommend riding out and relaxing back, book a shuttle option so you only ride the detour once — then relax on the shuttle back.
Ride Out, Relax Back
When hiring a bike from our store, the Frankton Track is the main route out of Queenstown connecting to the greater trail network. You can still enjoy the ride, but if you’d prefer to only ride the footpath detour once (which we recommend), you can add a shuttle from Frankton Marina back to Queenstown for just $10 per person! Stop for a drink at Altitude Brewery to finish your ride, then relax on the shuttle back into town.
Just make sure to add the shuttle to your Bike Hire Booking!
