Where can I collect the bikes?
Select the date and quantity of riders on this page. Then on the day simply collect your mountain bike(s) from Around The Basin’s shop at 3 Searle Lane in central Queenstown.
What time do I have to return the bikes?
The shop closes at 5 pm daily. Please make sure you think about this when booking, as you may want to start earlier to maximise your bike hire.
How do I see more of the Queenstown Trail?
We have packaged together bike hire with shuttle transport to allow you to experience the best of the Queenstown Trail.

A free paper copy of this map will be available when you collect the bike(s) from our shop.
All of our mountain bikes are perfectly suited for riding on the Queenstown Trail network. Each bike has been carefully selected using our decades of experience riding around the Whakatipu Basin.
Most of the fleet is made up of either the Norco Storm or Merida Big range, though we also have Scott bikes for the kids (16″, 20″, or 24″ wheels), and trailers or half-bikes for infants.
All of our bikes are maintained and serviced in-house by our experienced team.
Please note: all of our bikes are front-suspension only, so not suitable for technical downhill trails (such as the Skyline Gondola or 7 Mile).
To book: Select the hire option based on the child’s or infant’s age and the duration of hire, then click ‘BOOK NOW’.
Then on the next page you will be able to select from these bike/equipment options:
For children (5-14 years) we have either 16″, 20″, or 24″ Children’s Mountain Bikes; or XS, S, M Adult’s Mountain Bikes.
For infants (0-4 years) we have either Child Trailers or Tag-A-Long/Half-Bike.

Please note: our preference is for infants to use Child Trailers. They are stable and safe, and can fit either two small infants (<20kg) or one larger infant (<40kg).
