  • Start closer to the wineries

The ¾ Day Bike the Wineries ride is a relaxed and scenic way to experience Queenstown’s famous wine region without committing to a full day. With a later start and a one-way ride through the “Valley of the Vines,” this self-guided adventure gives you the perfect balance of cycling, wine tasting, and stunning landscapes – all at your own pace.

What to Expect

Meet us at Around The Basin’s Queenstown shop and jump on a short 25-minute shuttle to our Arrow Junction bike hub. Once there, we’ll fit you to a mountain bike or E-bike, provide a helmet, winery trail map, and give a briefing with local tips to help you plan your afternoon.

Start with a scenic 6 km ride along the Arrow and Kawarau Rivers, crossing two suspension bridges including the Kawarau Bridge, the world’s first commercial bungy site. From there, continue into the Gibbston Valley, where a string of cellar doors await.

Spend the afternoon tasting local wine, enjoying lunch, or simply soaking in the views. At the end of your ride, we’ll pick you up from your chosen winery at 4:30 pm and shuttle you back to Queenstown.
