Our Full Day Bike the Wineries Ride is one of Queenstown’s most popular experiences, combining historic Arrowtown, scenic river trails, and the renowned Gibbston wine region into one unforgettable day. Your adventure begins with a shuttle from Queenstown to Arrowtown. From there, enjoy a self-guided ride through spectacular alpine scenery, crossing suspension bridges, following the Arrow and Kawarau Rivers, and finishing amongst Gibbston’s award-winning cellar doors. Take your time exploring the wineries, enjoy a long lunch, or simply soak up the scenery. At the end of the day, we’ll collect you and your bike from your chosen winery and return you to Queenstown

Planning Your Winery Visits

  • Wine tastings are not included and typically cost around $20-$40 per person
  • We recommend booking tastings and lunch in advance, particularly for groups of six or more
  • A valid NZ driver’s licence or passport is required for wine tastings
  • Wine purchases can usually be collected by the return shuttle—just ask at the winery

Looking for a Different Option?

During summer (September–April), this ride is also available as:
  • ¾ Day Bike the Wineries – a later start with slightly less time in the wineries
  • Half Day Bike the Wineries – ideal if you’re looking for a relaxed afternoon ride

Weather

Trail conditions are assessed daily. If conditions are unsafe, we will contact you to discuss rescheduling your booking or arranging a refund (less any applicable transaction fees). For full details, please see our Terms & Conditions. If you are unsure about the weather, call us one hour before your tour departure time and we can take you through options for the day.
Please Note: The Kawarau Gorge,  The Big Day Out, Arrowtown to Queenstown and The Hugo Tunnel Loop rides are all not recommended  for children due to their distance and terrain.

Weather event: 28/8/26

Heavy rain has caused some damage to the Queenstown Trail between Arrowtown and Arrow Junction.

For the next few days, Bike The Wineries – Full Day and Arrowtown to Gibbston will start around 7km beyond Arrowtown, closer to the wineries, avoiding the damaged section. You’ll miss Arrowtown, but the ride itself is as good as ever!
